Hello, and welcome to the Triangle Sanctuary!

My name is Jake Gierhart and I like to create media and art!
Here is a bit about my life and me as an artist;

I am a 24 year old veteran that served 5 years in the Marine Corps and I've been stationed in California as well as Japan! After my voluntary Honorable Discharge, I decided to sharpen my mind and skills by applying to and eventually attending the University of Colorado Boulder! I hope to study engineering so that I can score a good job as well as minor in some field of art so that I can create more freelance art for me and my friends.

As an artist, I have touched many mediums and attempted many ways to create. Iv'e played around with everything from hand drawn pencil sketches and Posca pens to acrylic painting and spray paint. I have even touched a bit into more technical art such as photography and digital painting. Besides the actual physical practice of art, I've also poured my heart into some of my pieces and played with emotions to create a physical embodiment of how I feel. Everything from happiness to calm and anger and loneliness has been drawn into many of my pieces. As an example, "The Goop" poem I wrote (seen above) is exactly how I felt on a lonely night I stood duty to watch over a seemingly empty barracks. The sheer nothingness and never ending midnight crept into my exhaustion and amplified it.

Continuing into the future, my goal is to learn as much as I can to expand my horizons for new types of art! This will allow me to sharpen my current and future skills to create more exiting pieces.
