I played around with Photoshop to get a feel for it. Here is what I came up with by playing with the settings and tools.
During my exploratory journey, I found out that the best resolution for the web is 72 pixels per square inch and 300 pi/in for prints. It is also very important to save a working file such as a .psd as well as a JPG for easier posting an sharing.
